I’m Molly, your fellow offbeat RV traveler—who likes to venture off the beaten track and save cash whenever possible.

This RV travel site will highlight fun RV travel destinations in the U.S. and Free RV Camping that is near them, so you can see what these places are like and then decide if you want to visit.

Do you always need cell service? I do. Like to be near amenities and not out on some remote forest road in the wilderness? Me too!

My RV travel background

I spent most of 2020-2023 bumping around the U.S. in a little 2013 Camplite QBB 16ft travel trailer that I bought in the dead of winter, online, from an RV dealer in Eldon, Missouri. Who does that?

Then I paid a guy to tow it to an RV park in Ruidoso, NM where I was living. I got lucky, lots of snow but no leaks! I named her “Chica Casita.” When in a snippy mood she became “The Outhouse.”

Me, Chica Casita, and my little Chihuahua-mix terror Tiger traveled from Ruidoso to Portland, Oregon, then back down the coast of California to Florida—briefly passing though Arizona, New Mexico (again!), Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

I’d never traveled to the south (other than a couple of vacations in Florida which doesn’t really count) and what I loved the most was WATER. Water everywhere. And lush, green vegetation; so beautiful.

To keep costs down while working P/T online I purchased the basic Thousand Trails camping pass and Trails Collection (so get a ton more places to stay) for around $80 per month for two years and used the crap out of it—staying for two weeks at a time all over the U.S. for… FREE!

Or almost free. Seems most RV folks either love it or hate it. I definitely love Thousand Trails and think it’s the best low-cost RV camping pass out there.

A few random things about me

• I RV traveled to Crystal River, Florida with the exciting plan of ‘swimming with the Manatees.’ Then I learned there were lots of alligators in the clear, blue water as well (some very big ones) and chickened out. What a wimp, eh? Next time! I did visit the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge and got to view a few mamas with their offspring. Super cool.
• My first travel trailer was a 1968 Aloha vintage trailer I found on Craigslist for $200. I fixed her up and traveled to Las Vegas with my then 16-year-old son. Three windows went out in our Jeep Liberty (it was snowing) and we blew a trailer tire on the highway. Still had fun, plus sold it for $2800 upon our return. Not a bad profit!
• I’ve had unexpected explosive diarrhea in publc twice—once in Portland, OR and once in Copacabana, Bolivia. With no access to a bathroom. You do not need more details.

Then there was this one time… ha ha, I’ll stop! Seriously, I hope the content I share on this website, Facebook, and YouTube helps you adventure more and spend less during your RV travels and maybe brings a smile to your face every now and then.
